The founder of the ‘dating website for jobseekers’ who is one of Australia’s youngest and most successful entrepreneurs Gen George (left), will be on the stage at the 11th annual Data Day in Sydney (24 March) and Melbourne (26 March).

Three years ago, George founded the online recruitment platform OneShift which connects over 414,453 job seekers and 36,183 businesses around Australia looking for one-off work shifts, casual jobs or permanent employment. It works like a dating site, bringing potential employees and employers together, saving users both time and money.

George has put most of her own marketing efforts into social media – OneShift has an impressive 161,759 ‘likes’ and a 30 per cent engagement rate on each post.

At Data Day, she will discuss ‘ integrating data findings into one’s marketing strategy and media mix,’ looking at the OneShift data evolution and what their data is used for. She’ll also talk about her company’s media mix vs. the historical industry media mix, and how to understand the data collected, avoiding misconceptions along the way.

George has grown her team to 40, launched a New Zealand arm of the business, and recently acquired Australia’s leading mature age jobs board, Adage.

Two other new speakers have also been announced. Greg Nichelsen (centre), head of customer insights & analytics, BT Financial Group and Dominic Mether (right), manager, international marketing services at Queensland University of Technology, have joined the program.

Nichelsen will discuss the topic ‘has data has killed the marketing campaign and, if so, how will your marketing strategy cope?’ He will look at how BT is using data insights to drive a different marketing strategy; customer expectations on contextual personalised experiences; and the impact of digital big data analytics on the way companies connect with their customers.

With a passion for data and insights and a successful 15-year career in the data, analytics and information space, Nichelsen focuses on bringing customer-centric insights and customer frameworks to business strategy and execution at BT Financial Group. He believes that data is vital in meeting customer expectations, but without engagement, it’s useless.

On the academic front, Mether will provide a case study on Queensland University of Technology’s path toward marketing automation and aligning marketing and recruitment sales for optimum results.

In his eight years with QUT, Mether has led successful projects to implement technologies that transform the way the university manages international enquiries from prospective students.

This year’s ADMA Data Day theme is how to unlock the real power of data and will feature case studies and expert best practice.

The events take place Sydney (Sofitel Wentworth Hotel, 24 March) and Melbourne (Crown Promenade, 26 March). Visit www.admadataday.com.au for the full program of speakers and to register.
