Star Whybin\TBWA, Auckland creative directors Lisa Fedyszyn and Jonathan McMahon set to depart for overseas opportunities in UK or US
Multi-awarded Whybin\TBWA, Auckland creative directors Lisa Fedyszyn and Jonathan McMahon have confirmed they have departed the agency to take a break before pursuing several offers overseas, most likely in the UK or USA.
Fedyszyn told CB that the parting was entirely amicable and the pair wanted to try their luck overseas rather than staying within theirs comfort zones in New Zealand.
Whybin\TBWA Auckland ECD Dave King told CB: “Even though I’ve known them since I got back from Australia in 2007, it’s the first time I’ve got to work with them which was great fun. They decided to look for different opportunities which they have so far kept close to their chests so as not to jinx anything. Their departure gives me the perfect opportunity to look at the make up of the creative department and work out the best possible mix to deliver great work for our clients. I’ll keep you posted as things progress.”
In February 2013 then Whybin\TBWA Auckland’s chief creative officer Toby Talbot snared the pair out of his former agency DDB New Zealand, offering them joint CD roles.
In April 2010,Talbot, then ECD at DDB, hired the pair from Colenso BBDO, Auckland, where that had been a star team for three and a half years. The team, ranked #1 in the world on Bestads over the last decade, has been recognised extensively in NewZealand and overseas at D&AD, Cannes, Clio, LondonInternational Awards, The One Show and Young Guns.

I was their CD a decade ago, when they were relatively junior-ish but talented, feisty and confident. They deserve all the success they get…until they’re replaced by the next generation. And round it goes.
Oh, Monty, please let it go.
All the best on your adventures Lisa and Jonno, I’m sure there is something amazing out there in Adworld for talented folk like yourselves.
And last time you moved country Jonno, the Cats won the flag, so I’ll take this as a good omen for 2015.
All the best.
Dave.
So is Rory leaving DDB?
