Independent Sydney agency The Works has added more creative firepower to its ranks with the appointment of two creative teams following a string of new business wins over the past six months.

Leo Barbosa and Adam Bodfish have joined as creative leads while art director Marijke Spain and copywriter Eric Franken have come on board after graduating from AWARD School.

Art director Barbosa and copywriter Bodfish arrive from JWT Sydney where they worked on clients including Nestle, Kellogg’s, RAC and Johnson & Johnson. Before joining JWT, Barbosa worked at Ogilvy Brazil and Leo Burnett Brazil and has done stints at Droga5 Sydney, US Sydney and Republic of Everyone. Before his two years at JWT Sydney, Bodfish worked for UK integrated agencies Bray Leino and Rees Bradley Hepburn.

Spain and Franken have been hired after graduating from AWARD School last year. Spain previously worked as a designer for Canberra-based agency Coordinate as well as Moon Communications while Franken was a digital creative at The Farm Digital.

The new creative hires come as the agency experiences a period of accelerated growth with client wins including Sunbeam, NRMA Group and most recently Optus. The Works currently has more than 75 full time staff with more set to join over the coming months.

Says Damian Pincus, co-founder and creative partner at The Works: “As new clients have embraced our creatives on the forefront model we are in the fortunate position to be adding the best talent to deliver them outstanding business results. In Leo and Adam we have two award winning and very experienced creative thinkers who understand the demands of working at a rapidly growing integrated agency, while Marijke and Eric are enthusiastic and determined young creatives who have a promising future ahead of them.”
