Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney and Clemenger BBDO, Melbourne top Aussie agencies at APAC Effies

Kids-landing-page_SVP.jpgWinners for the APAC Effie Awards 2015 were announced at the Awards Gala held at the Four Seasons Ballroom Singapore, honouring Asia Pacific’s most effective marketing campaigns.

The awards gala presented a total of 61 Awards – 1 Grand Effie, 17 Golds, 19 Silvers and 24 Bronze. The Grand Effie was awarded to Havas Worldwide India for its ‘No Child Brides’ campaign for Child Survival India.

Saatchi & Saatchi, Sydney and Clemenger BBDO Melbourne led the Aussie agency pack, with the former scoring two Gold Awards for OPSM ‘Penny the Pirate’ in Healthcare and Youth Marketing.

Clemenger BBDO, Melbourne scored Gold – for Mars Australia ‘How ‘cat-call’ sparked a debate’ – as well as one Silver Effie and two Bronze Effies.

Also scoring Gold was Ogilvy & Mather Sydney for AAMI’s ‘Rhonda and Ketut – A Love Story’.

Other Silver winners from Australia were Leo Burnett Melbourne with The Brand Agency Perth with one each. McCann Melbourne, JWT Sydney, McCann Sydney, The Monkeys, OgilvyOne Australia, and Lifelounge picked up one Bronze each.

The winners emerged from 92 finalists across 36 categories and the coveted Agency of the Year Award went to Ogilvy & Mather Mumbai who picked up 8 awards – 2 Golds, 4 Silvers and 2 Bronzes. Lowe & Partners Worldwide Mumbai and DDB Auckland came in second and third respectively.

Ogilvy & Mather was named the Agency Network of the Year.

The winners and finalists will be accorded points that will add to their ranking in the Effie Effectiveness Index, the world’s most prestigious ranking of effective marketers, brands, agency holding groups, agency networks, agency offices and independent agencies.
