Members of AWARD are eligible for 25% discount on tickets purchased via www.semipermanent.com using the promotional code: SP15AWARD.

One of the largest events of its type, Semi-Permanent consists of a conference, exhibitions, competitions, workshops and parties, in a week-long celebration of all things design. AWARD returns following last year’s panel discussion on the need to close the gender gap in the advertising industry, which welcomed an audience of more than 500 creative minds.

This year AWARD will answer the big questions around creativity.

Hosted by Cavort producer and AWARD committee member, Ian Fowler, this year’s panel includes:

  • Co-founder of award-winning agency BMF, Warren Brown – whose work over more than 30 years in the industry has not only gained him hundreds of awards but got the Brits to drink Fosters, persuaded Aussie women to eat lean beef in light of iron deficiencies, and took XXXX Gold from a regional brand to the No.1 beer.
  • Justin Drape, a man of many titles, including co-founder and chief creative officer of The Monkeys, director and partner at Maud Design, and creative director and co-owner of Homer Hudson Ice Cream.
  • Creative director at Clemenger BBDO Sydney, Rebecca Carrasco – a frequent Gold winner in the world’s top Advertising shows, who has also earned an Asia Pacific Child Rights Award, a United Nations Award and the AdNews Emerging Agency of the Year award for her own agency.
  • Ashadi Hopper, executive creative director at Lowe Profero, whose 15 year career has so far earned him more than 40 creative awards and recognition as one of the top 10 digital creatives.
  • Jason Little, co-founder of For The People and chairman of AGDA in NSW, whose work includes the branding of City of Melbourne, Optus, Seat, One Degree, Sydney Pavilion/Shanghai Biennale, and the Australian Cancer Research Foundation.
  • Linda Jukic, creative director of Hulsbosch and a NSW councillor for the Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA) – named one of Australia’s Power 20 by Australian Creative magazine.

Says Mark Harricks, chairman of AWARD: “It’s great to be back at Semi-Permanent, and an exciting milestone in what has already been a busy year for AWARD. As well as delivering a successful member lunch with Dan Wieden in March, we have been focused on increasing diversity in the industry; this year’s NSW AWARD School recruitment campaign was designed to target young people in much broader geographical areas, for example – an extension of the work we began in the area of gender diversity last year, which was the focus of our last Semi-Permanent panel.”

This year’s event will feature creative leaders from a range of different fields, including Stanley Donwood, D&AD, Ben Quilty, and Wired.
