article-0-1DDB9A1400000578-473_634x910.jpgAs Macbeth, directed by Revolver's Justin Kurzel, closed the festival competition on Saturday it was met with a standing ovation and has consequently received rave reviews. Variety have labelled it '...scarcely improvable... fearsomely visceral and impeccably performed'.

Shot mostly on location in Scotland where the original Shakespearean tragedy is set - it stars Michael Fassbender as Macbeth, french beauty Marion Cotillard as his Lady Macbeth and was produced through Emile Sherman's company See-Saw Films.

This is the Aussie director's second feature following the critically acclaimed 'Snowtown', released in 2011. He is already set to work with the leads again on a big screen adaption of computer game Assassin's Creed which begins production later this year.

Justin is represented by Revolver in Australia.
