David Jones showcases Aussie talent in ‘Watch This Space’ campaign via Whybin\TBWA + Maud
Following from the very successful brand campaign launch ‘It’s In You,’ via Whybin\TBWA Sydney and Maud, David Jones is launching ‘Watch This Space’, showcasing some of Australia’s best, unearthed talent across music, art, photography, sport and film.
In another innovative move for the brand, David Jones has engaged a cross section of both well-known and up-and-coming names, including actor/musician Sophie Lowe, DJ and producers Nick Drabble and Stu Turner of Set Mo, illustrator Gemma O’Brien, dancer and choreographer Amrita Hepi, film director James Chappell and visual artist Kitty O’Callaghan, Kat Harley and Laura Bailey of Mezo, DJ Luens Jacobs, DJ Kristy Lee Peters of KLP and athlete and model Amy Pejkovic, who also features in the ‘It’s In You’ campaign.
A total of 11 rising stars, with a combined social media following in excess of 175k, were styled across collections from David Jones’ spirit brands, including Bec & Bridge, Mink Pink, Shakuhachi, Tigerlily and Keepsake, in a celebration of next generation talent and credible fashion.
The campaign is the latest offshoot of David Jones new strategy to reinvigorate the brand and bring energy to the 177 year old retailer. This follows on from the ‘Shot By Sound’ campaign featuring Daniel Johns and the digital-first campaign, ‘It’s In You’ featuring Jessica Gomes alongside newly appointed ambassador, Adam Goodes; You Am I frontman Tim Rogers; Sydney Dance Company dancer Juliette Barton; champion high jumper and model Amy Pejkovic; model Tahnee Atkinson; and actor, Alex Russell.
Shot against a bold, block-coloured background, the ‘Watch This Space’ campaign, which has launched nationally online and in David Jones this week, will run until the end of this month.
