1280px-FoodlandSAlogo.svg.jpgAfter decades of ensuring the Coles-Woolies duopoly is kept at bay as the third strong player in the South Australian market, Foodland has decided to ramp up its advertising and marketing efforts with the appointment of KWP!

The decision comes as global German giant Aldi prepares to enter the fray.

Says Con Sciacca, CEO, Foodland: “Market conditions are constantly changing and never more so than now. As a result, as a company we feel now is the right time to take a fresh approach and leverage the many great assets our brand has. And that’s where KWP! comes in.”

Says John Baker, managing director, KWP!: “Foodland is an iconic South Australian brand and we are delighted they have chosen us to partner with them; a true challenger brand that has been more than holding its own against the ‘big two’ and soon to be tested by the ‘big three’. It’s the kind of fight we relish.”

The Foodland win comes just over 7 months after KWP! acquired its crosstown rival Clemenger BBDO and further consolidates it position as the go-to agency for challenger brands by adding to its already impressive roster of clients including Coopers Brewery, Yalumba family vignerons, South Australian Tourism Commission, People’s Choice Credit Union, Motor Accident Commission, RAA, Great Southern Rail and UniSA.

Foodland will continue to work with its long time agency Impressive Advertising who will look after catalogue and retail production.
