Global initiative teams with JOY Sydney to launch hard-hitting global campaign for wild tigers

TIGER-FILM-bottles.jpgGlobal initiative Save Wild Tigers, via JOY Sydney, has launched a 60 second film as part of a global social media campaign.

Captivating, chilling and bloody, the shocking film is set to initiate worldwide support to stop the unnecessary demand for Tiger parts, which drives an increasingly sophisticated illegal wildlife trade network throughout Asia and the world.

Wild Tigers are being killed illegally to satisfy demand for tiger products such as Tiger skins and Tiger Bone Wine – products that are highly lucrative on the black market. Illegal poaching and wildlife crime is the greatest threat to the mere 3,200 tigers that survive in the wild.

“This film is set to have a huge global impact,” announces Simon Clinton, Founder of Save Wild Tigers. Clinton, a dual Australian and British national, was brought up in Sydney and worked there for a number of years before settling in England. “The partnership with JOY came about organically. I spend a lot of time in Australia so it felt very natural to harness my connections there in order to bring about this film.”

Save Wild Tigers is a global initiative which pro-actively draws together talent from the creative world to highlight the plight of the wild Tiger – from art exhibitions to Gala Dinners at some of the world’s most iconic venues. In 2013, Save Wild Tigers took over St Pancras International train station in London for three weeks creating the world’s largest ever Tiger event. This was followed in 2014 with a series of high profile events in South East Asia, including a spectacular gala dinner at the Majestic Hotel in Kuala Lumpur patronised by the Malaysian Royal family. This year, Save Wild Tigers inspired London with a high-profile art exhibition at the Hotel Café Royal.

The spot was produced pro bono by Melbourne-based EXIT Films, directed by Tom Campbell.

Save Wild Tigers seeks to prevent the wild Tiger from being condemned to art galleries and zoos for the rest of time. For more information visit savewildtigers.org.
