ntegrity launches Digital Marketing Mentoring Program to solve industry skills shortage

The program has been evolving for the last two years to accommodate the rapid changes occurring during the industry-wide digital awakening currently being seen.

With more and more brands recognising the affordances of consumer engagement through digital channels, the demand for digital strategy and management services is set to continue growing in Australia.

Yet the industry is facing a severe skills shortage with thousands of jobs being created in the digital space and a limited pool of digital talent adequately equipped to fill them.

To add to the digital distress, universities are failing to train young Australian graduates with substantial skills for the digital-first culture they are attempting to kick-start their careers in.

ntegrity’s Digital Marketing Mentoring Program hopes to address this imbalance by committing to find and guide the brightest talent towards becoming fearless and fresh-eyed digital leaders, thinkers and activators.

A recent study from FYA showed that 60-70% of students are being educated for careers that will not exist in the future due to the rise of skills automation.

Tony Lee (pictured), ntegrity’s strategy director, said it’s a “dire circumstance” for Australia’s digital industry unless the industry addresses the impending occupational shortfall.

Says Lee: “Having lived their young adult lives with broadband internet, through the rise of social media and the nexus of streaming entertainment, millennials seem to possess an inherent adaptable proficiency that is ready-made for the ever-changing demands of the digital marketing industry.

“However, I’m astounded that very few universities have defined learning paths for students to prepare themselves for digital marketing careers.”
