vr1melb.jpegSixty40 has again partnered with internationally acclaimed Australian contemporary artist Anthony Lister to bring his paintings to life both on screen and in Virtual Reality for his recent exhibition in Melbourne.

Says Mark Simpson, founder and ECD, Sixty40: “These virtual reality vignettes let people to further immerse themselves in the evocative characters from Lister’s work.  People love the experience of dropping the goggles on in the gallery to further their experience of the physical work. Now we’ve released the Lister VRignettes on the app stores, people around the world can enjoy it beyond the walls of the gallery space.”

vr2melb.PNG.jpgEach painting’s character has been brought to life in an animated loop and has had its own soundtrack designed to suit the micro-narrative. This is presented with 3D sound so it helps to have headphones on for the full experience.

This marks the another step Sixty40 has made into creating virtual experiences using animation and is offering the creation of these experiences as part of its offering.

Says Simpson: “The idea behind the VRignette is to create a short experience that suits social settings. You can experience the joy of teleporting to a new reality, have a quick look around and teleport right back to your friends. We’ve created an engine that makes the experience relatively easy to create. Fun, Fast and powerful.”

The Lister VRignettes are available on the Apple Store and Google Play for Android phones.
