OMD has been steadily building its strategic credentials with the key appointments of Russ Mitchinson and Michael Pilz announced late in 2015.

Ramsay has more than 17 years experience in the media industry. He has worked with a number of the UK’s leading media and communications agencies, including Universal McCann, Rocket, Starcom, Dazed & Confused and Frukt, before joining Carat where he rose to the position of creative strategy director.

Ramsay joins OMD from his UK based position of global innovation lead at Initiative, where he was responsible for helping develop an innovation culture across the agency group.

In his new position Ramsay will lead the strategic community and be responsible for product across the OMD Australia client base. Ramsay has also been appointed to the OMD executive team.

Says Peter Horgan, CEO, OMD Australia: “Lee is one of the leading strategic media specialists on the global stage. His range of experience across creative, strategy and communications planning is unparalleled. With a proven team in place at OMD we are very excited to work with Lee on steering the strategic direction of our clients and amplifying their communications strategies.”

Says Ramsay: “OMD’s commitment to the smartest insights, innovation and an enduring desire for brilliant ideas is not only evident in their work but also in their dynamic working culture. Their passion is infectious, and I’m looking forward to working with their iconic clients and building on the fantastic award winning reputation.”

Ramsay will report into Horgan, and his appointment is effective from July.
