To be held at Rydges South Bank in Brisbane, the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI) Innovation Summit 2016 will see attendees inspired by some of the country’s leading business people across industries including technology, social media, professional services and retail. The keynote speaker for the event is consumer psychologist and frequent television panellist Adam Ferrier, Co-owner of Cummins & Partners.

Federal assistant minister for innovation Wyatt Roy has echoed the need for innovation, providing the following video for the summit:

AMI chair Andrew Thornton said the digital movement continued to transform the marketing profession and the summit would provide attendees with insight into upcoming trends and practical applications.

Says Thornton: “Impacts of globalisation, digitisation and new technologies are reshaping the marketing landscape.

“This summit provides Australian leaders and marketers with the opportunity to be inspired by experts who use the latest thinking and technologies to disrupt existing markets, create loyal customers and drive business growth.

“Big budgets are no longer a guarantee of marketing success and the digital world has levelled the playing field.  That’s why we’ve focused on innovation.  Today’s organisations don’t necessarily need to work harder, just work smarter.”

He will be joined by other leading industry figures including:

•    Mark Jones, Chief Storyteller and CEO of Filtered Media

•    Cat Matson, Chief Digital Officer of Brisbane Marketing

•    Dr Linden Brown from Market Culture

•    Jock Fairweather, Director at Little Tokyo Two

•    Jordan Duffy, Founder of Buckham & Duffy

•    Paul Hawkins, Managing Director of Crazy Might Work

The summit is a full-day of presentations and workshops and also includes an exhibition hall and networking event. Delegates are generally middle to senior level markets and communications professionals from state and federal governments, national not-for-profits and other public sector groups.

Last year’s AMI Summit attracted 200 delegates from across Australia, with more than half from multinational and national companies.

Early Bird Registration is open until 15 May. For more information visit: www.ami.org.au/QMS16.
