The 31st LIA judging was held at the Encore at Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas in early October, convening over a ten-day period.

Finch, Sydney has led the Australian winners pack with 4 Gold statues and 1 Bronze. Finch scored Gold for Foxtel ‘Date Night’, ‘Bus’, ‘Karen’ and ‘Karen Returns’, Foxtel ‘Date Night’, St Kilda Film Festival ‘Every Second Counts’ and a Gold and Bronze for University of Western Sydney ‘Deng Adut’.

The other Gold statues have been won by Guilty Melbourne for Bonds The Boys ‘Cricket’, ‘Talcum Powder’, ‘Trim’, ‘Showers’, ‘Swim’, ‘Impact’; McCann Melbourne for Seeing Eye Dogs ‘Free Puppies Forever’ and Open Spaces Productions Perth for Drug Aware Drug Aware ‘Relationships’.

Says Barbara Levy, president of LIA: “Nothing was taken for granted in the judging rooms.  The jury members were very conscientious when it came to Statue discussions. They visited and revisited each piece of shortlisted work again and again.  So you can be assured that the statue winners in the 2016 LIA Awards come from a crop of work that is universally acknowledged as exceptional.  And the Grand LIA winners are without doubt, the best of the best. So my highest congratulations to our Grand LIA and statue winners.”
