Says Damien Whitney, EP, Clockwork: “We seem to be attracting directors who have grown up in many countries, ‘citizens of the world’.  Whether or not it is due to their varied upbringing and unique life experiences, Sebastien and Henri both have a deep understanding of what makes a film look great.

Bassil’s mother, being a French diplomat, saw him grow up in a great many countries throughout the world. After graduating from ESRA Nice with a degree in film, he quickly earned a reputation as a respected TVC director which had him shooting all over the world including the UK, France, Spain, Russia, Lebanon, Indonesia, the UAE and Bulgaria. He loves shooting commercials that have plenty of action, think sport and car TVCs but is equally adept at shooting contemporary visual films in varied genres. Finding beauty and careful composition in each shot is his mantra.

Guy who was raised in various countries the world over, started his career in Los Angeles as an actor, whilst studying film at The California State University.  Having appeared in countless TVCs, Guy moved behind the camera to become a strong visual and performance director.  His unique ability to draw out true, honest and real performances is a function of the relaxed environment he creates on set. The defining feature of Guy’s work is always a beautiful and cinematic look. His talent in this area is demonstrated by the fact that the majority of Guy’s commercials and feature film Nerve have been recognised with Australian Cinematography Awards.

Guy has directed spots for Canon, Mitsubishi, Ford, Olay, McDonald’s, Snickers, Rexona, Nokia, Tresemme, Oral B, Standard Chartered Bank and Amnesty International.

Says Whitney: “Seb is extremely talented, he gives a great deal of thought to the meaning and purpose of everything he directs and annoyingly, he is ridiculously nice to work with.  We’re excited to have him onboard at Clockwork.”
