As part of final year coursework, students are asked to enter work into both the D&AD New Blood Awards and AKQA’s Cannes Future Lions competitions.

Art and copy creative duo Saori Kunitake and Marie Rimsh (more commonly known as Alayna and Masha) have been announced as winners in D&AD New Blood Awards, with their short film receiving a Pencil for the brief they completed for The National Autistic Society.

The aim of the brief was to challenge stereotypes and stigma surrounding autism. Their intimately raw video execution titled Pass it On does just this, through revealing how much more there is for everyone to learn about autism. Credit also goes to RMIT Media student Eimhin Healy who composed the soundtrack for the piece.

Another RMIT Advertising team consisting of Joshua Brown, Dane Clifford Wolfe, Marisa Jayne, Ellery Forrest and Nicholas Rushbrook were shortlisted for AKQA’s Cannes Future Lions competition.

The team completed the open technology based brief with a project titled WikiCert, which aims to combat the topical issue of fake news. The winners for Cannes Future Lions will be announced mid-July.
