Special Group has lured Tom Martin (left) and Julian Schreiber (right), two of Australia’s most respected creative leaders, to join Cade Heyde, Dave Hartmann and Lindsey Evans as partners in the Australian business.

Schreiber and Martin join from Cummins&Partners Sydney where they helped establish a strong business with some great talent; attracting clients like Puma, HBF, Tourism Noosa and University of Tasmania to name a few.

Prior to joining Cummins&Partners in April 2015, they were ECDs with Johannes Leonardo in New York where their work for clients like TripAdvisor, Sony PlayStation, Adidas and google helped them to significantly grow that business. The pair joined Johannes Leonardo in November 2013 from Clemenger BBDO, Melbourne.

Says Lindsay Evans, founding partner and CEO, Special Group: “Our global search led us to the perfect partners just around the corner. Their experience, ambition and shared values are second to none and there is perfect alignment in approach to creativity, culture and commerce. Tom and Jules are creative problem solvers in the truest sense.”

Their international reputation was built in the early days of their career at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, where they created highly effective work including the SXSW & Best in Show AWARD awarded ‘Remote Control Tourist’, the Cannes Grand Prix winning NAB ‘Break Up’ campaign, the multiple gold lion winning Guide Dogs ‘Support Scent’ and the Four’N Twenty Salad Plate. With over 200 advertising awards to their names, their more recent ones include 21 Cannes lions, a D&AD black pencil, multiple One Show pencils and Clios. Also notably, both as a creative team and as creative directors, they’ve won the Best of Show award at Australian AWARD three times.

The pair take over from Matty Burton and Dave Bowman, who exited Special Group to join Google in April this year.

Says Evans: “Tom and Jules join Special Group with incredible momentum and opportunity we have some of the most exciting opportunities of our careers in front of us working across brand strategy, experience, design and advertising with brilliant clients and world class talent in a wonderful culture.”
