foodorapicnic.jpgThis past weekend, foodora wrapped up a month-long series of ‘Pop-up Picnics’ across the East Coast of Australia.

The campaign via events agency Play Events, saw foodora surprise and delight unaware picnickers in popular local parks across Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney – reminding them to #packupandpicnic through gifting them specially selected picnic packs.

The activations have been centered around the introduction of the pick-up feature within the foodora app, encouraging users to take advantage of their ability to skip the queue, collect their favourite cuisine and enjoy the sunshine, in parks and beaches this summer.

Says Lizzie Kaye, PR manager at foodora: “At foodora we’re all about fun and food, that’s why we wanted to surprise Aussies with a picnic pack and help them kick-start summer in style. We were looking to introduce new customers to the brand and show them that there are multiple ways in which to enjoy foodora – in particular with the pick-up function.”

Says Tom Sanders, managing director, Play Events: “foodora are transforming the way we eat, so it was only right we helped transform the way the deliver it. Popping up and surprising picnickers across Australia was an incredibly fun project and such a simple way to communicate the fresh thinking and positive attitude of the brand. Play Events are delighted to help Foodora put a smile on the face of even the hungriest fan.
