CliveBingwa_Crop_BLOG.jpgNine has appointed Clive Bingwa to the newly created role of Managing Director and Director of Sales for Nine Perth.

For the past three years Bingwa has been Managing Director of Initiative Media and IPG Mediabrands Perth and prior to that was National Media Director and Partner at 303Lowe.

“Creating this new role in Perth is another great example of our desire to challenge the way things have always been done,” said Michael Stephenson, Nine’s Chief Sales Officer. “Clive will bring a new perspective to our business in Perth. He is widely recognised as one of the most strategic media executives in the country and he is a great addition to our team.”

“Clive will be working closely with our advertisers and agency partners with a focus on delivering real business outcomes. He has the best Australian content, world-class advertising technology in 9Galaxy and a unique data infrastructure at his fingertips to ensure we are the most effective media partner for every Perth client.”

Bingwa will report to Ian Paterson, Nine’s Director – Commercial Partnerships and Affiliates for operations and Richard Hunwick, Nine’s Director of Sales – Television.

“I’m tremendously excited to be joining Nine,” said Bingwa. “Since Nine bought its Perth station five years ago it has significantly increased its investment and now has a growing momentum in the market.

“I am looking forward to the opportunity in front of us in the Perth market and what we can achieve with our streamlined integrated offer that will actively remove barriers and efficiently deliver effective solutions.”

Bingwa replaces Ray Wardrop, who has been Managing Director of Nine Perth for the past two years. Director of Sales Kate McMahon, is also leaving the station and moving to Seven West Media (WA) in the new year.

“Ray has been an important member of the Nine senior management team and a passionate advocate for the opportunities which exist for our business in Perth,” Paterson said. “This year in particular we have seen real audience growth in the market and Ray has played a key role in the transition to our new offices in the centre of Perth, which has made us even more a part of the fabric of the city.”

Also joining Nine in Perth is Estelle Cooper, from MCN, who has been appointed Group Business Director responsible for television sales.

“Estelle is widely recognised as a future star and she is the perfect person to work alongside Clive to ensure we continue to lead the Perth market,” Stephenson said. “Estelle will work with Nine’s digital and integration sales teams and report to Clive.”

Bingwa and Cooper will commence their roles in January 2018.
