//Thirteen & Co director/photographer Lester Jones releases latest art piece film

Looking to explore a sense of narrative and storyline within fashion led film work has brought director and photographer Lester Jones international acclaim over recent years, and his latest project extends his passion further for exploring these themes in this genre.

Based around the iconic Dylan Thomas poem of the same name, Do Not Go Gently Into This Good Night uses interwoven art form vignettes to make a commentary on how the implementation of recent laws and regulations within Sydney have created a sense of abandonment, isolation and at times fear within the city’s youth culture.

VIEW THE FILM

Featuring a cast of emerging talent from the fashion and performance world, clothing from Song For The Mute, and music from a duo of International composers (including up and coming Australian band The Lastlings), the piece has been created to offer a stylised contemporary take on the iconic poetry with a series of vignette’s all interwoven by the notion of youth embracing or rejecting different interpretations of light.

Jones directed, edited and was responsible for all the photography on this project. Jones is available for commercial work through production collective //Thirteen & Co.
