Industry’s top talent gather at Heckler’s AWARD Award judge’s drinks at Paramount House
Last Thursday, Heckler hosted the 2018 AWARD Award judge’s drinks, at the newly renovated Paramount House.
Some of the industry’s top talent came together to celebrate completion of this year’s judging, with beverages provided by Hawke’s Lager and service by Golden Age Cinema & Bar. A new tasting menu from esteemed neighbours Longrain was also available on the night for guests.
Says Mike Spirkovski, chairman of the Communications Council and CCO of Saatchi & Saatchi Australia: “On behalf of Award I’d like to thank Heckler for hosting the 2018 Award judges welcome drinks. It was a brilliant night.”
Says Will Alexander, EP/founder, Heckler: “It was an absolute honour help judge the 39th annual AWARD Awards, especially at a time when Australia is producing world-class work within advertising. Working alongside Mike Spirkovski as the new chairman at Communications Council was a pleasure.
“The night was a fantastic opportunity for some of the industry’s brightest to come together and share a drink after a period of reflection upon last year’s best advertising work. We are proud to be able to support AWARD Award and the Communications Council. It was lovely also to be able to showcase the rooftop of Paramount House, which I can see being a fresh new hub for creativity in Sydney.”
AWARD relies on judges to set a benchmark for creative excellence. The winners of the 39th annual AWARD Awards will be announced on May 25th.

More like Spirko’s mates
I’m kind of biased at the moment, but it would be interesting to see AWARD have a stance on supporting creatives, not just creativity.
As agencies scramble to save money and the industry ‘reinvents’ itself over and over, surely it is time for our peak industry body to lead the charge and redefine the way creative people are paid for our intellectual property?
Intellectual property we currently give away.
@Steve Dodds: You mean, like a union, Steve?
Presumably there is one that exists to cover us – MEAA perhaps? But is any creative, anywhere in Australia, a member?
Who’s the really funny guy holding the crutch?
