Plaza Films director Paul Middleditch shoots Cox Communications’ ‘Epic Battle’ for FCB Chicago

Screen Shot 2018-07-25 at 9.34.24 am.jpgPlaza’s Paul Middledtich has directed the latest in FCB Chicago’s “Everything is better with Xtras” campaign for Cox Communications, the third largest US cable provider.

The spot sees two medieval armies preparing to face off, one side charging the other in an apparently monumental, howling assault of swords, armour and many hundreds of marauding warriors. The defending army rallies with bloodcurdling calls, and begins flying arrows and deploying all manner of weaponry to repel the attackers. Only then we see that the assaulting horde is really just a couple of blokes in a field. The tag states “Battle scenes are better with extras”.

The spot saw Middleditch collaborating with his long-time US DOP, Tom Sigel.
