Adobe launches ‘Shortcut To’ mockumentary social content series via For The People
Computer software giants Adobe has released a student-focused five-part mockumentary social content series dubbed ‘Shortcut To,’ as part of its Adobe Creative Cloud Back-To-School campaign via For The People.
The series profiles five unlikely characters on their journey to becoming a social media #influencer while taking as many shortcuts along the way as possible.
The clever campaign is both entertaining and informative, as each spot includes useful-yet unconventional mini tutorials on how to use key Adobe Creative Cloud features. The series includes tongue-in-cheek tips like ‘how to go to Paris without leaving your bedroom’ (Shortcut to Taking A Gap Year) to ‘how to craft a dope #fitspo video’ (Shortcut to Becoming a Fitness Celebrity) and ‘how to Photoshop yourself into an explosive moment’ (Shortcut to Becoming an International DJ).
Says Joyce Neo, marketing manager, Student Segment, Adobe: “The ‘Shortcut To’ Back-to-School campaign is a short, comedy, mockumentary series that follows five characters on their journey to become influential and achieve their dreams. The series was designed to engage, entertain and introduce a student audience to key apps and features within Adobe Creative Cloud by capturing their attention in a new and interesting way using narrative and humour.
“So far, we’ve seen success on social media channels such as Facebook, where there has been extremely positive sentiments and huge engagements.”

Neat way of bringing product features into something worth watching. Well played
These are really good.
Well cast and nicely tied back to the product
Cue all the ‘Pff, design agencies should stick to design man’ comments from your usual wallopers.
I’m sure you must be really proud of yourself for producing ‘something.’
I had zero to do with it. Jog on
it’s a bit cheesy – but does the job.
Personally felt the guy photoshopping himself into the travel photos was really sad.
This is hilarious. You never actually see funny branded content or ads for that matter.
This is fun, fresh and very well cast. Actually entertaining branded content.
