Darne Buckly.jpgHot on the heels of opening offices in Hong Kong and Japan, McCorkell has announced further expansion with a Melbourne office. The announcement follows the recent appointment of McCorkell as the B2B agency of choice for Australia Post.

New hires to the agency include D’arne Buckley (left), senior marketing consultant, Shira Friedman, content producer and Marissa Cookson, senior martech specialist.

Buckley joins the agency with a wealth of experience working on global brands in the United Kingdom, Australia and Southeast Asia. Her experience with McCann, Grey, Clemenger and J. Walter Thompson will support the drive into B2C considered purchase for McCorkell and further bolster the growing automotive practice.

Joining a tightly integrated agency was a draw card for Buckley: “McCorkell has a sophistication across disciplines that promotes more expansive thinking on behalf of its customers. I’m excited at the prospect of building out the local practice and bringing everything the agency has to offer into the Melbourne market.”

Marissa Cookson.jpgMcCorkell has developed a strong position as a marketing rechnology consultancy and managed services operator.  The agency plays a critical role introducing automation best practice into numerous client accounts and continues to lend the experience of its team to ongoing MarTech developments. Cookson (right) strengthens the offering further, incorporating her Marketo certification with a decade of experience as a front end developer, digital producer and QA lead.

Says Brooke Campbell, acting head of marketing technology: “Marissa’s multidisciplinary experience is going to help us even more tightly integrate the digital, web, content and martech service lines, which is essential to customers aiming for seamless, omnichannel marketing outcomes.”

Shira Friedman.jpgAfter 15 years working internationally as a journalist, digital content director, SEO lead and webmaster, Shira Friedman (left) has returned home to Melbourne with a wealth of knowledge and experience gained working in the tech and innovation hub of Israel.  Friedman will take point on all content requirements for the Melbourne client base and will strengthen the overall SEO, web content and translation management service lines for the agency.  With AI and voice marketing adoption expected to grow rapidly over the next 24 months, Friedman also brings experience in developing life-like service and sales scripts based on human speech patterns.

Karen Powell, managing director for McCorkell is buoyant about the opportunity for the agency over the coming 24 months: “The team in Melbourne not only have technical and subject matter expertise in their fields, they have great business acumen. That is what clients expect from their agency partners and delivering on this is table stakes for any agency that is performance based.”
