Greenberg replaces Scarpelli as 2010 Cannes Titanium and Integrated jury president

Bob Greenberg.jpgThis year’s elite Cannes Titanium and Integrated Jury, which awards breakthrough ideas and the best integrated campaigns, will now be chaired by Bob Greenberg (left), chairman, CEO and global chief creative officer of R/GA. He takes over from Bob Scarpelli (pictured bottom left), DDB Worldwide’s chairman and chief creative officer, who contracted an infection and is recovering. However, while he is on the mend, travel is not possible at this time.

Greenberg has been a pioneer in the advertising and communications industry for over three decades. Bob leads the vision for R/GA, an agency that serves as the digital partner for Fortune 500 companies and world-renowned brands including Nike, Johnson & Johnson, L’Oréal Paris, MasterCard, Hewlett-Packard, Nokia and Walmart. The agency has offices in New York, San Francisco, London, Singapore, São Paulo and will soon open in Buenos Aires.

R/GA – which by the way has an expat Australian chief creative officer, Nick Law – is one of the world’s most influential advertising agencies,emphasising the importance of integrated strategies, creativeexcellence and innovative technology. Greenberg and his brother Richardfounded R/Greenberg Associates in 1977 with the idea of creating acompany that values design, while focusing on developing leading-edgemotion graphics and live-action film and video production. The companycreated groundbreaking visual effects for movies, including Alien,Predator, Seven and Zelig. R/GA’s body of work spans 400 feature filmsand 4,000 television commercials.

In the mid 90s, Bob successfully transitioned the company into amulti-platform advertising agency specialising in database-driveninformation and multi-channel e-businesses. R/GA served as the leaddigital partner for the world’s most recognised brands and embraced theimportance of integrated strategies in a new media environment.

Under Greenberg’s leadership, R/GA was recently recognised by Adweek as theDigital Agency of the Decade, has been listed on Fast Company’s Top 10Most Innovative Advertising & Marketing Companies, AdvertisingAge’s Agencies of the Decade and Agency A-List, named as Creativity’sInteractive Agency of the Year and honoured by Campaign, naming Nike+as one of the Top Ten Digital Ads of the Decade.

Greenberg has won many awards for creativity including the Academy Award,GRANDY at the ANDY Awards, a D&AD Black Pencil, a Cyber Lion GrandPrix and Titanium Lions at Cannes. Among his most notable awards arethe 2007 BDA Lifetime Achievement Award, Clio Lifetime AchievementAward in 2006, Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award for Communicationsin 2003 that honours the best in American design, and the ChryslerDesign Award for Innovation in Design. He was also the 2004 Cyber LionsJury President and was a member of the 2005 Titanium Lions Jury.
