The Global Awards 2010 Call For Entries

Screen shot 2010-07-14 at 7.15.15 AM.pngThe Global Awards, honoring creative and marketing excellence in healthcare communications worldwide, announced the Call For Entries for the 2010 competition. Now in its 16th year, The Global Awards receives entries from healthcare corporations, hospitals, advertising agencies, production companies, and design studios that produce communications for medical, pharmaceutical, and healthcare related products.

In 2010 new categories were added including Animal Healthcare, Allergies, and Computer Generated Graphics, which recognize a unique niche in healthcare communications and honor those industry professionals involved in creating work for their clients.

The Global Awards deadline for entries is August 15th, 2010.

 

“TheGlobal Awards continually monitors the healthcare industry to keep thecompetition relevant by creating categories that reflect the everchanging landscape of healthcare communications, and updates thecompetition’s category roster based on feedback from our entrants, theGlobal Awards Board, and GrandJury,” says Michael Demetriades,executive director, The Global Awards.

 

Recently addedcategories include: four categories for Animal Healthcare, encompassingCommunication to the Healthcare Professional – Print Media: AnimalHealthcare; Communication to the Consumer/Patient – Print Media: AnimalHealthcare Products & Services; Radio: Animal Healthcare Product& Services; and TV: Animal Healthcare Products & Services. Additional new categories include: Allergies introduced in theCommunications to the Professional section, and Computer GeneratedGraphics in the Art & Technique section. 

 

Judgingsessions for this year’s competition will be hosted by the followingprominent international agencies:  McCann Erickson, Sydney; OgilvyHealthworld, London; Pharmacom, Barcelona; Topin & Associate,Chicago; and trademark DM, Melbourne. A session will also be held atThe Global Awards in New York.  Additional sessions and their locationswill be announced.

 

For the first time in 2010, The GlobalAwards will also have digital entries judged online allowing anadditional base of jurors from regions with both established andgrowing healthcare markets to participate and represent theinternational scope of The Global Awards GrandJury.

 

TheGlobal Awards Board, headed by Board Chairman Tom Domanico, Chairman,CEO, & WWCD, of Draftfcb Healthcare, is represented by prominenthealth care professionals, whose respected reputations and knowledge ofthe industry continually generate prominence for the competition andexpand the international reach of the Global Awards.  Board membersguide the judging process and ensure that the competition addresses theneeds of the healthcare communications industry. 

 

The GlobalAwards GrandJury is comprised of a panel of international industryexperts, representing the top creative minds in the field of healthcareadvertising.  2010 Jury members will be announced soon.  

 

In2009, the GrandJury awarded two Grand Global Awards, 40 Global Awards,and 119 Finalist Certificates and received entries from 30 countriesaround the globe.  The Global Awards and Bravo!, a group of Australianhealthcare specialists, celebrated the 2009 award recipients at theGlobal Awards presentation in Sydney.
