LA SHORTS FEST.jpgThis year for the first time, AdFest will submit both 2011’s and 2010’s four ‘Fabulous Four’ short films to compete at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival – the world’s biggest short film festival.

This will give the 8 Fabulous Four directors even bigger exposure to the world’s most influential production executives, potentially skyrocketing their careers overnight.

“By submitting the Fabulous Four films to the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival, we’re giving young directors in the Asia Pacific the chance to shine on a world stage,” says AdFest President Jimmy Lam.

The Los Angeles International Short Film Festival (also known as ‘LA Shorts Fest’) is the largest short film festival in the world, accredited by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences. More than 30 short films that have screened at LA Shorts Festival have later been nominated for Academy Awards, and 11 short films at LA Shorts Festival have won Oscars.

“We receive thousands of film submissions to LA Shorts Fest each year. The selection process is very competitive, so this is a rare opportunity for AdFest’s Fabulous Four to reach some of the film industry’s top executives. But keep in mind that although the Fab Four films will be submitted to LA Shorts Fest for the first time this year, selection into the festival is not guaranteed!” says Bob Arentz, who founded the festival in 1997.

This year’s LA Shorts Fest takes place on July 22-30th 2011. Despite receiving thousands of entries, only the best short films are selected to screen every year, with more than 250 film screenings per annual festival.
