David Denneen’s 2011 Cannes Diary – thoughts from the Film Craft Lions jury room
FG Entertainment director David Denneen is representing Australia on the Film Craft jury. Here’s a few thoughts on his week, exclusive to CB…
Last day of judging. I’m not a writer, if I had more time I would have storyboarded the last 3 days.
12 hour days minimum. Trying to stay focused and not think about the fun that everyone is having.
Not in agreement with all decisions but that is to be expected. These awards are about the craft of film making, and at times I think this gets lost.
I’ve done my best for Australia and NZ, but it’s the league of nations in the room, and there have definitely been some interesting perspectives bought up that have either enlightened or blindsided me.
Looking forward to weekend, I’m going to cram one week of fun into 2 days, Club 55 and Colombe d’Or for starters.
