The 2010 News Limited Young Lions Competition has closed with 189 entries received in total across all categories, setting a new record for the Australian competition. More significantly, entries into the media category increased by 41% on last year.
News Limited Group Director of Marketing: Advertising & Integration, Garth Agius said with most entries consisting of teams of two the entry level means more than 300 people put in the extra effort to further their careers.
“Congratulations to everyone who entered. In its third year Young Lions is now receiving entries from over 50 different creative, cyber and media agencies and the program is firmly on the industry awards calendar”, he said.
Judging of the first round entries will take place over the coming two weeks with an impressive line-up of senior agency professionals involved in the two part judging process. Short listed entrants from first round judging of all three categories (Media, Print, Cyber) will be announced on May 5.
Finalists participating in the second round will be given a 24-hour brief designed to prepare finalists for the Cannes experience.
