American dip Obela appoints 303Lowe Sydney to launch its hummus product into Australia
After a competitive pitch 303Lowe has been selected to work with Obela, an international JV company set up between Pepsico and Strauss – Group, to launch their hummus brand into Australia.
Obela is the market leader in fresh dips and spreads in the US.
Says Jon Mckie, chief strategy officer at 303Lowe Sydney: “Obela is a highly successful brand with amazing products that have completely reinvented the fresh dip category in all the markets they have entered. We are delighted to be working with them at such an exciting time in their development.”
Says Chris Elliott, general manager of Obela: “We selected 303Lowe to work with us because of their excellent track record in grocery, their thorough understanding of the dips category and we felt they would be a perfect partner to help us launch the brand in Australia.”
Says Mckie: “This is another significant win for the agency and further adds to our momentum and growth.”

I hope it involves a campaign in which people who pronounce it “hew-mus” get their faces smashed in on camera. Sadly it will probably just be that naked discharge chick from their other ad talking about how she like it “fresh and simple, with nothing on”.
