Fairfax Digital reels in Sutton to head of video

ricky hi-res.jpgOn the back of strong growth in online video, Ricky Sutton today joins the team at Fairfax Digital in the newly-created position as head of video. Sutton will be responsible for integrating, developing and streamlining online video to connect advertisers with consumers through work, home and mobile devices.

 

Sutton comes from a strong background in media having worked with News Limited, PBL and the News of the World network in the UK. Previously he has worked at the Daily Telegraph as its managing Director (Online) and more recently with Ninemsn where he launched The Fix, before leaving to operate his own media consultancy business.

“It’s an exciting time for online video in Australia, particularly withthe upcoming national broadband network set to widen access tocontent?rich services throughout the country. Likewise it’s an excitingtime to be joining Fairfax Digital, as their video advertising productshave now been restructured and converged to provide greateropportunities for our clients,” said Sutton.

In November, Fairfax Digital rebranded itsonline video advertising products under the umbrella brand of FDTV.Fairfax Digital also recently won Online Publisher of the Year in theFrost & Sullivan Best Practice Awards in Australia.
