Scot Waterhouse joins Sapient Nitro as associate CD of the Sydney office
CB Exclusive: Scot Waterhouse is joining Sapient Nitro Sydney as associate creative director alongside Stuart Poignand, the Sydney managing director.
Essentially, he’ll be creative director of the Sydney office, working under James Burchill and Nancy Hartley, the agency’s executive creative directors who are based in the Brisbane office.
He joins from McCann Erickson Sydney where he has been working as a senior writer since February 2009.
Waterhouse told CB: “I’m delighted with my new position at SapientNitro, and I’m really looking forward to working with Stuart, James and Nancy. It’s an amazing company and I’m looking forward to steering ship a little more than I have done at McCann. My experience at McCann has been mixed. It’s taught me a lot, and I’ve made some great mates, but let’s just say that it was a fallow year as far as padding out the reel and the book goes.”
Burchill is thrilled to have Waterhouse on board: “Scott’s creative leadership experience will add a lot to our agency, our people and the outcomes for our clients. Our Sydney office has been steadily growing so this is a great opportunity to build on that creatively.”
Prior to McCanns, Waterhouse was creative director at Love Sydney and before that he spent a decade a Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney, where he played a key role over the years, including contributing to Saatchi winning CB Agency of the Year three years in a row. Waterhouse started his advertising career in London in 1985, where he appeared in the D&AD Annual and gained recognition as one of advertising’s ‘Best Newcomers’ by the British Creative Circle.

Well done Scot. Happy days! :o)
Well done 4:21… Hope you’re not either… for if you were you’d surely know that when quoting someone’s error in writing one signifies the error is not theirs with a (sic). How do you like a bit of your own medicine you pedantic fuck?
11.29 This is really chubby material. What on earth is a pedantic fuck? One you actually care about. A sincere fuck perhaps. A detailed fuck or a fucking detail? You really are a silly little boy. Go and visit Mrs Plam and her five daughters and you may well wake up with a solution in hand, so to speak.
