AdPartners to be re-branded, stand-alone agency reporting to BWM’s Group CEO, Paul Williams
Wednesday’s report that AdPartners would move in with sister Photon Group agency, BWM, is just one of three options being explored, according to Paul Williams, Group CEO of BWM.
“We have not decided whether AdPartners is coming in here yet. At this stage it will operate as a stand-alone, re-branded business, reporting to me. Where it will be located is up for discussion,” says Williams.
Other options being explored include AdPartners sharing office space with another Photon Group company or staying in its current office in Sydney’s Kent Street.
Williams confirmed that Shaun Branagan, who was promoted to ECD ofAdPartners in November last year, retains his role of ECD with there-branded agency. However, Williams could not confirm whether GeoffNesbitt, a former chief financial officer at Photon, would continue asCEO, referring calls to Photon.
He also couldn’t comment on whether there would be any redundancies at AdPartners reiterating that the Photon Group is undergoing major restructuring in a bid to reduce costs.
AdPartner’sclients listed on its corporate website include Sharp, the AustralianJockey Club, Jaycar, Revlon, Ingham and Tahiti Tourisme.

Obviously you can all rest easy ad partners.
So he knows they’re rebranding (obviously from lengthy discussions) and they know that Shaun Branagan is staying on (obviously from lengthy discussions) but he’s not sure that CEO Geoff Nesbitt will have is job (aka You’re fired Geoff) and he’s not sure whether there will be retrenchments (aka very few of you will keep your job).
As an observer I would say that there is no reason Photon would keep everybody and go through the expense of rebranding (Design, stationary printing etc.) when they ‘Photon’ are in such financial trouble. Come ion Lynchy, let a blogger call the truth. God knows a lot of poor sods are going to be up shit creek while ‘the company’ want to just try and manage their image and look after themselves. Poor bastards, I feel sorry for them.
Clearly no strategy at photon
It kind of seems tragic that an agency that has been around so long should end up in such a dishevelled mess. When they should have remained independent, they decided to sell out to Photon to establish their future (or the founders retirement fund).
Then a bean counter who had never run an agency was an implant from Photon to make sure all concerned complied with the “golden handcuffs”. The agency was re-invented until it lost its original reason for existence. I just love the line on their “current” website…..” We’re a new agency that’s been around for a while”
Share price went south, original promises of financial reward were broken
and now the shares are small change which they offer for those remaining who worked their butts off. No cash….changed the rules… just dusty old shares with less value than anyone could have imagined imagine.
I feel sorry for anyone that is left. Grab the nearest parachute.
I remember a Photon director swanning into an AdPartners Christmas party just after the purchase and making a grandiose speech with promises he could not keep. Yeah. I worked there for a while and then ran from the building!
Everyone knew it then and it is no less true now.
Shame.
