Brendan_and_Andrew.jpgThe Brisbane office of GPY&R has announced a new creative structure, on the back of the departure of ECD Piet Human, who has resigned.

Andrew Thompson (near left), the agency’s current creative director will continue in his role supported by ex-Leo Burnett Melbourne’s Brendan Greaney (far left), creative group head, hired in May, who steps up to the position of creative director. The pair will share creative management duties.

Ex DDB and Clemenger BBDO creative director, Jim McKeown, who joined the agency 2 months ago, will take up a creative group head role across one of the key client portfolios.

Says Thompson: “Brendan and I have complementary skills and strengths and work well together. We’re both looking forward to building on the creative success the agency has had over the last few years. We’re also fortunate to have a guy like Jim in the agency now and also a great group of emerging talent.”

Says Phil McDonald, group MD: “These guys are proven performers and they know our clients well. They are all extremely experienced and well awarded creative leaders in their own right.

“Piet has been with us for 4 years now and has done a great job, but he has decided it’s time to move on and try new things, so we wish him well.”

Says Richard Boland, GM of GPY&R: “To keep improving an agency has to manage change well. This is one of those instances. The change is right for Piet and it’s now right for us and our clients.”

Human will leave the agency in the new year and will make an announcement on his plans in the coming weeks.

GPY&R Brisbane is the reigning B&T Queensland Agency of the year, topped the tally at the recent BADC Awards and was the only Queensland agency with multiple Effie Finalists at the Australian Effectiveness Awards in September this year.
