Fetch TV protects football fans from spoilers with the launch of Spoiler Spoiler via Host, Sydney
Recording overnight football games to watch the next day is great, but avoiding results online can be tricky. So Fetch TV has partnered with Host to create Spoiler Spoiler, a browser extension that blocks football results, allowing fans to browse the web spoiler free.
Spoiler Spoiler works by scanning websites for countries, team names, and football related terms. It then replaces any potential match results with the country colours of the user’s team, blocking annoying spoilers. The desktop browser extension is available for free on Chrome.
The launch of Spoiler Spoiler will be supported by an online video and digital advertising spanning display and social.
Says Sue Brenchley, marketing director, Fetch TV: “Spoiler Spoiler will help fans who prefer to record the overnight games instead of getting up. Whether your team wins or loses, it’s so frustrating to find out the result online before you’ve had a chance to watch the game, but with Spoiler Spoiler you no longer have to worry.”
Says Julian Watt, executive creative director, Host: “Spoilers are a love / hate part of our web-centric lives, and this June and July, as many of us record overnight matches to watch later, we saw this as a good opportunity to create a custom spoiler blocker. It’s a bit of fun that can help the fans enjoy Fetch TV recorded football more.”
