CB Exclusive: Senior creative Frank Trobbiani departs Marmalade after mammoth six year stint
CB Exclusive: Senior creative Frank Trobbiani is hitting the road after six and a half years with Marmalade.
Most recently he has been responsible for three major integrated campaigns for Beyondblue. ‘I Am Anxiety‘ featuring Ben Meldelsohn. ‘Man Therapy’ which was featured on The Project and was retweeted by Kevin Rudd, Wil Anderson and Michal Clarke. And the highly shared ‘Left Hand’ campaign, created to shift young males attitudes toward Gay, Lesbians and Bis. ‘Left hand’ achieved huge uptake on blogs and made the front page of international site Reddit and 4Chan while also being recognised at The One Show.
While at Marmalade he played a significant role on other awarded work for Metlink, Heinz, Bosch Power Tools, Vicroads and the recent Cannes finalist for Melbourne Water.
Says Trobbiani: “After freelancing for Marmalade for almost five years, which must be some kind of weird adland record, I took a permanent position there to work with creative director John Akritidis. To say the least, working with John has been endless fun and I’m very happy with our achievements on some really worthwhile projects. I’ll really miss John and the team.
Asked if his decision has anything to do with his band MAMMOTH MAMMOTH’s upcoming European tour with fellow creatives, Ben Couzens/Clems and Mikey Tucker/CHE, Trobbiani responded: “Not at all. That’s been on the cards with our record label for a year. If anything, I might have a little more time to get some rehearsal in and finally tune my kit!
“What I’ve always loved about the ad industry is that it’s cool to play in different creative sand pits. I think it’s healthy, I think it compliments what we do – and I think we’re all very fortunate to be able to do that.
“Now, just feels like the right time to sink my teeth into some new opportunities and experiences that are happening out there.”
Trobbiani can be contacted via LinkedIn here.

Nice work Frank – you rock!!
I had the pleasure of working with Frank for a couple of years at Marmalade – great creative to work with, had lots of laughs and we did some awesome work too! Best of luck Frank with the next venture.
Gutsy Trobby, gutsy!
Boom tish. Good on you Frank.
Looking forward to seeing what your next move is Frank. You’re not planning on a comeback with the Hawks by any chance? They could do with some pace in the middle…
Hairy Mammoth balls of luck to you, Frank
Good on you Frank, you are one of the true legends in the industry. No luck needed in your new venture I’m sure. Rock out!
Grab your layout pad, hide your durries and call your lawyer – Frank’s on the loose.
Classic Bones!
Onya Franco.
Frankie, chucked the towel in! I never saw that coming. ; ).
I still don’t understand why you need two bass drums, but love your work nevertheless.

Working under Frank Trobianni, John Akritidis and Mike Davey were the golden years in advertising. Never again shall i be so close to pissing my pants with laughter. Love you frankie. All the best for things to come x
Good luck Frank… bloody nice rock pig that you are.
Ohhhh Franky T. May the force be with you. I loved our little rockin’ & Hawk talks. You’re a good egg.
It’s a real testament to the Melbourne industry that 3 (very talented) creatives can still play in a working band.
I found plenty of ex musicians in Sydney, almost all have had to face the choice between having a career and having a life.
Looks like Clemenger will be the majority share holder in Mammoth if Frank joins Mike at CHE
Is that a drum stick in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?
Frankie, drummer jokes aside you’re a smart, clever, funny man and thanks to you made my award school days fun. T Mc
Good move Trobby, Love the Beyond Blue work you and John did – take a bow, move on.
The realest dude in the game! Best of luck with what comes next.
