CB Exclusive: Volvo launches second spot in Rugby Series campaign via Arnold Furnace
CB Exclusive: Volvo and Arnold Furnace have launched the second TV spot in their Rugby series for the Volvo S60 T5 R-Design.
The new spot sees ex-Wallabies captain, Nathan Sharpe along with Al Baxter and Radike Samo give the All Blacks a warm welcome ahead of the 2013 Bledisloe series – by erecting a mammoth billboard near the airport.
Not content with being the ex-Wallaby captain and all round rugby legend, the multi talented Sharpe even penned the welcome himself.
Says Tom Spicer, Arnold Furnace ECD: “Like Volvo the players have really jumped at the chance to do their bit for Australian rugby. There was a bit of a mix up with our intel on the Lions prank, but there’s no doubt the All Blacks will see this when they fly in. Hopefully it can help swing the result for Australia this time.”

Yep, that’s embarrassing.
We will smash the all blacks
This is what happens when rugby players and clients write ads.
An ad for a car that barely includes the car, doesn’t teach you anything about the car, and doesn’t create an emotional connection to the brand.
What a giant waste of money.
Pretty dire also aren’t Lexus the automotive sponsor of the Wallabies?.
Not often that a brand get to shoot footage locally as opposed to using the shite international stuff so i feel bad that this is the best thing they could come up with.
Global alignment is clearly not a good thing
great re positioning
Hey stop taking the pus out of us NuZilinders. Ya duckhud West Islanders.
Pretty sure it’s an ad for Rugby sponsorship and that rugby fans won’t get their knickers in quite such a twist.
Lexus do sponsor the wallabies but i think this is only supporting aussie rugby as a whole. Pretty canny if they get away with it.
An ad about rugby sponsorship, featuring a pretty decent performance from 3 rugby legends. Fans will love it.
It’s not nearly as bad as the comments above would have it.
Not quite sure why this would make me want to buy a Volvo, even though I do like the V-60 RDesign… but as a die-hard Wallaby Supporter, I did enjoy it.
