CB Poll: Swisse takes Gold as top Australian Olympic sponsor of London Olympic Games
You’ve been bombarded by the ads over the last fortnight, now which Australian Olympic sponsor has won Gold at the London Games? Which marketer has made the most of its sponsorship?
CB Bloggers were asked to choose from the following major players:
Cadbury
Coles
CommBank
McDonald’s
Qantas
Swisse
Telstra
Other (specify in the comments)
With 262 votes cast, Swisse has blitzed the field, with an impressive 43% of the vote. Telstra is well behind on 25% but the others – which should have been highly fancied favourites coming into the games are several laps behind.
The best of the rest is led by Commbank on 10%, ahead of McDonald’s on a lowly 6% ahead of Qantas on 5%. Coles has a mere 4% while Cadbury is in last place on 1% of the vote.

Swisse the best ad? Laughable, I think the agency that made it has been voting hard for themselves.
The poll question is: Which marketer has made the most of its sponsorship? Not who made the best ad.
They’re not the XXX Olympic Games. They’re the Games of the XXX Olympiad. WWI and WWII meant that there were no games in 1916, 1940 or 1944, but those “Olympiads” were still counted.
Thus, only 27 Olympic Games but 30 Olympiads.
Pub trivia, here I come! Rock on.
If Swisse is such a savvy marketer, why didn’t they pull the Cadel Evans ad after he pulled out with fatigue? It was still running a couple of days ago!
Dear Bullshit detector they pulled the ad after Cadel when down with fatigue but granted not immediately and then they returned it – why – because we all love Cadel. That’s what they call Savvy.
