Says Colin Wilson-Brown, chairman of judges: “I’d like to thank the first round judges for their time, insights and scrutiny. To see such a high number of finalists progress sends a strong message around the value of the work being delivered by our industry. The next round takes that further, with cases and results assessed by panels of senior marketers, providing a client perspective on how agency work is driving business performance.”
The Effie winners, Effective Agency of the Year, Effective Advertiser Award, and Grand Effie will be announced at a presentation in Sydney on Thursday 30 August.
The Effies are jointly presented by The Communications Council and the Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA) in association with Think TV. Other sponsors and supporters include Displayground, Facebook, Healthcare Communications Council, Shootsta and UnLtd.

Rob Morgan & James McGrath playing chess whilst we’re all playing checkers. I heard Clems was going after Effies this year, looks like they’ll close some out. Make up for that Cannes deficit!
Yup, what a dumb strategy – proving that not only are you the best creative agency in Australia but you’re also the most effective.
Good luck with your checkers
@ Clems, “I heard that Clems were going after Effies this year” is farcical. They are,
because the creative work is no longer there. See “Cannes 2018”. What a fall.
It will be interesting to see if they can even respond with better work next year.
There’s plenty of good work coming out of 474 St Kilda Rd and plenty more to come.
Thanks for your concern though.
Clems (and The Monkeys for that matter) are amazing because they have a track record of winning for effective and creative work.
The two shouldn’t be mutually exclusive. If they are, then when you sell creative to your clients – what’s it based on? So you can go to Cannes?
