Colenso BBDO, Auckland has recruited hot young UK creative team Will Bingham and Victoria Daltrey.
Thepair originally teamed up at Central Saint Martins Art College inLondon. On graduating, they won a year-long scholarship, sponsored byDiageo, working at three of their roster agencies: AMV BBDO, JWT andBBH. Why are so many fleeing BBH these days?
That’s the way – clear out the old, balding, washed up comb-overs we usually recruit from Blighty and bring on the hot totty! Nice.
A NZ agency with an inferiority complex anyone? Surely they’re not suggesting there wasn’t a local team available to fill this role. In this current economic climate?
Balls!
What’s going on? They’ve been together for over 6 years and still don’t have an awkward, over-thought, supercool group shot. They’re obviously not very good then.
You’re right 9:53am.
Akers, Wakelam, Williamson, McCredie, Hawes, Bingham, Daltrey…
All ex-BBH geezers who’ve made the voyage to Syders in the past 18 months.
As part of New Zealand’s breeding program, we like to lure fresh DNA to our little island with promises of lots of awards for ads that never really run.
We then get them drunk on locally made Heineken and steal their seed, which prevents our progeny from having excessively awkward curly hair or more than the International Rugby Regulation number of fingers.
After this, we send our inferior, inbred relations to Sydney where they bring the collective GDP of the Great Big Kangaroo Nation down, making NZ look even more prosperous in the lower right (but not too far right) asia-pacific region.
I’d officially like to congratulate Will and Victoria for taking the first step in our breeding creativity program.

Nice post Mrs Clark.
Your frank acknowledgment, and intimate disclosure of New Zealand’s breeding program confirms what was once rumored as fact. Bah ram you! I mean good on you! All that is left to do now is to put these lowly creatures to work. Surely the only place for this unsightly genus is the local Advertising industry.
Alas, due to the dysfunctional effects such breeding has on the brain, and associated sheep like behavioral patterns, your agencies continue to import an even lesser beast of burden, the Scruffy bearded spotty Pom. A desperate attempt to reach greener economic pastures? An act to appease an inherent discomfort with ones own presence?
It’s time to give your Lamb a real go Helen!
One wouldn’t want to trivialize such matters would they?
Welcome the the blog VB, please don the flame retardant jackets now as the poster here really let fly.
Hey Billy, so Helen Clark is the PM of NZ? Just like John Howard is PM of Australia. Keep up with current affairs Laddiie.

A Political Correspondent.
Unfortunately in Australia we dont have a minister for agricultural relations, although I can think of some island states that would benefit from such a posting.

That apparent error, was actually a nation-wide Neurological Responsiveness Examination, endorsed by the Minister of Agricultural Affairs. You were the only New Zealander to successfully pass. Congratulations.
I’m confused. Do kiwi’s say minister of agricultural affairs or minister for agricultural relations?
Does it make a difference if you’re married to a human?
Will looks like a right dish. He’s welcome to work on my briefs anytime.
I think my sister is planning something similar. Best of luck to you.
BBH had a massive clear out recently , so it’s not surprising there’s alot of ex BBHers with the travel bug, things aren’t too rosey in Blighty at the moment!
Who cares if they are foreign. We live in a global world. Let’s mix it up a little. Besides now you don’t have to travel the world on an expensive flight to meet interesting people.
Good luck to both of you. Expat.
40 redundancies at BBH might have something to do with it.
go Colenso go,
nothing wrong with picking poms, some fresh out of town talent is always good, keeps the current incumbents on their toes, and if anything will allow you to give the SS a run for their money.
as for the local tribes pissed they didnt get the job, so other than local citzenship, what else do you have to offer?
Being kiwi myself I do know what I can do different!
Man things must be pretty quiet over at BBDO Auckland. Hey look we’ve just hired a couple of really cool juniors from the UK! Wanna hang out with us?
