Ex Saatchi’s Wellington CD Tim Hall lured to creative director role at Banjo, Brisbane
CB Exclusive – Fast growing Banjo Advertising has made a serious investment in to its Brisbane office with the key appointment of former Saatchi & Saatchi, Wellington CD Tim Hall as creative director.
Hall is the latest in a string of key hires by Banjo and re- unites a formidable creative team with Hall’s ex creative partner Georgia Arnott, who heads the creative department at Banjo Sydney.
After a highly successful period at Y&R Sydney, where the pair were key contributors to Y&R Sydney winning Campaign Brief Agency of the Year, twice, Hall joined the Campaign Palace, Melbourne.
He then moved to Clemenger BBDO Sydney where he held the position of deputy creative director. Since 2007 Tim has been working in the New Zealand market as CD at Saatchi & Saatchi’s award winning Wellington Office.
Says Hall: “I’m excited to be moving to the fastest growing market in Australia with an agency that is proudly Australian and has ambitions to match. Banjo Brisbane continues to grow and achieve incredible success in just over 12 months and I have a very experienced managing partner in Stephen Forth.
“Together I believe we can create something special. I’m also looking forward to collaborating with Georgia once again. There’s been a lot of layout pads gone through since we last worked together, but I know how Georgia thinks and respect her talent, and that never changes!”
Says Stephen Forth: “With our continued growth in new business we felt the time was right to raise the creative levels of the agency and the marketplace. After spending considerable time searching the markets here in Australia and overseas we are very fortunate to have found Tim and have him join Banjo Brisbane.
“Tim is a highly awarded and experienced creative director who will provide the agency with significant creative firepower moving forward and continue to push our Brand story selling philosophy.”

QLD’s always been partial to banjo, so it should go well.
Well done Tim and welcome back.
Onya Timmy, you cute little spring chicken you.
So did House get cancelled?
Hey steady on with the Deliverance cracks, 8:20… That’s like saying Sydney’s always been partial to amyl nitrate, butt plugs and Tom from Finland, but gee, at least we Queenslanders would never say such a thing.
9:28
Banjo’s pinched some pretty big businesses in Qld. I like your enthusiasm, though, but maybe ease up on the amyl – it kills braincells quicker than any other drug.
yes 9.28 but it does loosen the sphincter nicely, so it’s a weigh-up really, isn’t it…
Congrats to Tim.
Good bloke.
What’s a ‘serious investment’ these days in dollar terms…as in how much (ballpark) does a CD like Tim get in Sydney/Brisbane/Wellington get these days?
Come on now, don’t be coy.
Nice Tan!
Wasn’t Nick Harman PRed as CD only a few months ago?
Tim is a good man, shit bondi bay surf swimmer, but a good man.
in answer to 12:37. They were offering a high profile Sydney ECD $400K.
So, what does that make Tim worth, 7:43?
WTF!?
400K and the work’s going to be as shit as the ‘Account Handlers’ make it. I say ‘Account Handlers’ when technically they should be called ‘Agency Handlers’, as they spend more time wrangling the creative department than their clients.
You tell us 12.37.

Know who you are talking about.
It was a total package with bonus = $400k not just a straight $400k
sorry for being niave people, but what does a cd actually make these days? are the glory days over? what would the range be? anyone care to enlighten me?
I think $400K is a bit high, but still being paid to some
when you see what other people are getting you’d have to think Tim would be on more than 300K
when you see what other people are getting you’d have to think Tim would be on more than 300K
just a guess but i’m thinking someone with tim’s book and experience is on 275 – 350.
that’s from someone struggling to make 100.
Hey Tim,
I see you’re hair still haven’t gone grey.
