Exit’s Glendyn Ivin directs delightful father-daughter story for BNZ via Colenso BBDO
EXIT director Glendyn Ivin has released his latest spot – for Bank of New Zealand via Colenso BBDO – a delightful father-daughter story that harnesses his talent for eliciting strong performances.
Says Steve Cochran, ECD, Colenso BBDO: “Following our “Bank of New Zealanders” work of the last two years with this sweet little story has been a delight. I certainly didn’t have to look far for inspiration with two young daughters. Glendyn then did such an amazing job of capturing these genuine performances – it’s hard not to love their father daughter relationship.”
The spot comes off the back of Ivin’s latest television series The Cry, a 4x1hr BBC One drama that premiered to 6 million viewers in the UK last year, and which launched in Australia on the ABC last Sunday.
The Guardian’s Luke Buckmaster said: “The Cry is a brilliant, gobsmacking drama and a must watch…the results are extraordinary, in a production that’s thrillingly impressive across the board – with a great script, great acting, classy cinematography (from Sam Chiplin) and a philosophically chewy premise.”
Last December Ivin won the AACTA Award for Best Direction in a Television Drama for his shattering SBS series Safe Harbour, also shot by Sam Chiplin.
