Former BMF Sydney managing partner Chris Kay, who left the agency at the end of the year, has landed in L.A. to take up a senior role at 72andSunny, Ad Age’s American Agency of the year and Fast Company’s 2012 Number 1 creative Agency in the world.
Says Kay: “I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Sydney working with some incredibly creative, smart and super nice people, but the opportunity to work at one of the worlds brightest creative businesses with a team of extraordinarily talented individuals was too good to turn down. Thanks for having me Sydney.”

People who jump from job to job should to be closely examined on their achievements.
Tina sounds like sour grapes to me having worked with Chris at BMF I can see why one of the best agencies in the world wanted him.
I am with Dave, we will miss him.
Well done and good luck Chris.
You’re absolutely right there, the agency BMF was prior to his arrival compared with what it now is after his departure are undoubtably poles apart. No denying that. The man certainly made an impact.
He must have an ego the size of a house to send a statement about some new job to the trade press in a country where he spent 5 minutes.
Reads like a giant passive aggressive fuck you to BMF, suggesting he was probably asked to leave.
Dave,
No sour grapes here. Just tired of glossy PR releases. I’m prepared to be proven wrong, but I look at the creative output, financial position, list of clients, and staff at BMF before his arrival and after, and they are remarkably different, as someone above has already pointed out.
34 and rain
Well done Mr Kay.
A spare room or comfy couch at the beach house would be very appreciated.
Tina.
Fallon. Manchester City. BMF. 72andsunny.
Over the past 13 years.
Hardly jumping from one job to the next?
72andSunny…we remember 72andHailstorms.
Keep living the dream and don’t stop the lunching.
Good luck Mr Kay.
Quote “Who is Chris Kay, I don’t know him, he’s non existent” Senior CommBank client, CBA GAD/Head of suits. Epic fail.
Some mean comments here. But that’s cool, what goes around…
Chris, loved working with you. You were way too progressive and forward thinking for BMF. Congrats and all the best with L.A.
@Chris Rock(s) agree. Great guy, championed great work, didn’t play favourites (even though it may have looked like he did) and knew what he wanted/needed from his team. Good luck dude, hope you kill it.
