Massive turn out for The Feds director Ben Lawrence’s new exhibition, Redfern; I Love You
Last night (Tuesday, July 16) over 250 industry folk and local residents gathered in Redfern to celebrate the opening of Ben Lawrence’s latest photographic exhibition Redfern; I Love You.
The portrait exhibition is a love letter to a suburb in transition. Over a period of 12 months Lawrence approached passers-by on the street in Redfern and convinced them to have their portrait taken. The portraits were taken through a custom-built one-way mirror in The Feds shop-front studio, resulting in a moving selection of unique introspective images.
The Feds acknowledge everybody who supported the evening. All of the photographers profits from the exhibition will go to the Kinchela Boys Home Aboriginal Corporation.
Redfern, I Love you is at the Damien Minton Gallery, Redfern, 583 Elizabeth Street, 12-6pm until Saturday 20th July.
