Naked Communcations to launch installation at 7:30pm tonight at Pause Fest in Melbourne
Naked Communications is the only creative agency commissioned by Federation Square Melbourne to exhibit at the fourth annual Pause Fest, a festival of creativity and innovation at 7:30pm tonight.
The installation encourages strangers to connect with one another to illuminate the message, ‘we are all connected’.
It works by asking participants to join hands in order to complete a low voltage circuit between two conductive handles. These are set far enough apart that to activate the piece alone is impossible.
Says Tom Ward, managing director at Naked Communications: “We’re proud to be a part of something as thought-provoking and culturally relevant as Pause Fest. It’s an event that demonstrates how vibrant and multi-faceted our creative industry is here in Australia.”
Says Andrew Reeves, communications director at Naked Melbourne: “Building on the festival theme, ‘connected’, the artwork seeks to actively engage the viewer by asking them to connect physically with other people, where together they can make something happen.
“The idea of physical interaction and connection was interesting because it’s something we find ourselves doing less and less these days thanks to digital devices and virtual communities.”

classic naked strawberry flavoured ice-cream standing in for real food. mawkish tosh. leave art to real artists not a bunch of opinionated tossers who have never been within cooee of the electric chair of reality. embarrassing.

Saw it last night and it looked really cool. Well done all involved.
Takes one to know one Adam.
Saw it last night as well. Looked awesome and what a great idea. More ad wankers need to get out there and actually build something with their own hands like these guys did.
Great, just bloody great.
Good Stuff Tristan and other naked cohorts.
