It’s a damn shame. Phase II past year, the gazillion ads made in two days was true genius and a perfect second hit. Must be tough hitting Second Album Syndrome on your third try. Maybe it was the client — but demonstrably, the client is not dumb. Interesting case, this. Back in the day, Heineken found ways to keep refreshing for years. Maybe they should have introduced his evil twin who smells all girly. Yeah that’s it. See? Easy.
The first two ads were great. The 200 videos were great. But in those 200 videos started the seeds of the silly wordplay that plagues this one compared to the originals. Still, probably better than most ads on TV and with the swell from the last campaign will probably have a few millions hits by the end of the week.
