SKY embarks on another epic journey in the latest TV commercial via DDB New Zealand
SKY is taking its audience on another epic journey with the launch of a stunning new TVC, created by DDB and directed by Steve Ayson of the Sweet Shop.
The 60″ spot first aired on Monday and follows an unassuming young hero as she explores the power of freedom in her own hands.
The TVC is designed as a teaser to promote the latest SKY On Demand offering scheduled to launch in early 2015.
Says Mike Watson, marketing director, SKY: “2015 will be a landmark year for SKY in terms of our consumer offering. We wanted a campaign that would give a sense of the scale of the changes we are making. It’s a truly beautiful spot. DDB nailed it…again.”
Says Damon Stapleton, chief creative officer, DDB: “In 60 seconds we’ve created something that demonstrates how complete freedom might feel. The epic film is engaging and moving and continues to champion SKY as New Zealand’s preeminent storytellers.”
SKY On Demand will see MY SKY customers be able to watch subscribed content at a time that suits, rather than just at the time scheduled. Instead of needing to pre-record a favourite TV show or film, viewers can connect the updated decoder to their home broadband and choose to stream from the catalogue of available content, all at their convenience.

Very.
Stop playing outside kids. Come inside and watch telly.
Love the music
epic. awesome.
No montage of different content, just a lovely piece of film that makes you feel nice things about the brand and delivers a simple benefit.
Sky continues to set the bar on pay tv comms, if only Foxtel would take note.
That is stunning. Well done DDB, another example of your fine work.
