Specsavers appoints cummins&partners as its new creative agency taking over from McCann
Specsavers has just appointed cummins&partners as their new creative agency after an extensive pitch process which was managed by TrinityP3.
Says Liz Attia, head of national marketing at Specsavers: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank McCann for all the work they have produced for Specsavers over the last five years. It’s been an incredible journey and we appreciate the partnership and dedication McCann has shown to our brand in helping us to grow to where we are today.”
Says Chris Jeffares, managing director at cummins&partners: “It’s a fantastic win. We are ecstatic to be working with Specsavers and have really enjoyed the pitch process and the local and global engagement. The work will be incredibly diverse and we look forward to continuing to build their global brand and presence.”

Why would Specsavers leave the most awarded agency in the world? Oh wait. They don’t care about awards. They have a business to run. Big, tricky account; Cummins&tc. should nail it.
Instead of having a crack at the tall poppy, why don’t you @X simply look at the facts. Smart (now McCann) have had the business for years, the cycle is usually 5 or 6. More likely a new broom sweeping clean at the client end. It’s very rarely the work. Having said that Cummins will do a great job I’m sure. Interestingly, the Specsavers account internationally is very creative and does win awards, so I’m not sure your point has any merit at all.
The ultimate middle man gig: managing an advertising agency pitch process for a marketing department.
Wow.
What actual skills does a Marketing Manager need if they can’t even run their own pitch process?
I like it how advertising people always know best when it comes to their clients’ businesses.
