‘Not you when you’re hungry’ genius…
Oh wait sorry wrong campaign.
Really?
Massive missed opportunity.
You think the target will stop smoking weed because of the ‘Stoner Sloth’?
Cringe.
Was i meant to laugh? These are pathetic and hardly likely to change behaviour.
Brilliant, Hahaha! It is abundantly clear that neither the client nor the agency sincerely believes this message… Is this just an exercise to fool people anti-weed lobbyists into thinking they’re actively trying to steer kids away from weed?

What a brilliantly stupid ad campaign, bad comedy, misinformation and cringe-worthy enough for even the youngest and most educated kids.
That is beyond shit!
This is not good. It could have been saved if somebody was steering a ship that is clearly on autopilot. Instead, you have a missed opportunity hitting an Iceberg.

mmmm……mmmmm…..mm…..mmmm…..mmmmmmm
@Joe Rogan, Notice how it’s the peers not parents delivering the sloth line? Existing weed smokers may not stop, but it’ll affect non-smoking, socially-anxious teenagers taking it up. This is infinitely more creative than a black-lung or gangrene feet. Nice work all involved!
Man I’ve gotta get hold of some of that gear….looks fucking great…
‘#stonersloth’ will take off just like ‘fetch’ did.
Stoner Sloth line is so forced, ruins the whole thing.
You can tell what happened here.
Junior creative “we’ve got a brief for a weed smoking ad” Other hipster junior creative “sweet man, let’s get some weed and come up with an idea”. “Fuck it, let’s get some doritos and we’ll do it tomorrow”
these are great
just wait a year or two more when weed is legalised in australia. then we’ll get some even stupider ads FOR weed.
These are terrible. Misleading, unfunny, and an insult to both sloths and stoners everywhere.
I think OTT is probably on the mark there. It’s a mistake to think that all drugs ads are aimed at all users. I’d guess these are aimed at the “at risk” kids. Tackling the hard core stoners would not be a job for a TV ad, although this approach would probably ring a few bells for them – way off in the fog. Giving the behaviour a name, stonersloth, isn’t a bad idea. I just wonder if the kids saying it out loud wasn’t a bit too much. Makes the kid a bit judgey which isn’t cool.
SO BAKED AY
The message is clear: drink ethanol instead, we need the tax rev
What if we’re all watching the ad incorrectly, and the kid who is saying ‘stoner sloth’ is actually the stoned one and he’s so baked he’s hallucinating the sloth — but really, he’s just left a really long awkward silence in the conversation and then tried to blame it on his imaginary sloth friend!?
Think about it.
LAME.
This just frames the whole idea of smoking pot funny. Which is probably not the desired outcome that the NSW Government had in mind, was it? This whole approach just turns it into a fucking joke.
Where is the true insights around things like – smoking too much weed can make you paranoid, smoking too much weed is likely to effect relationships (family/friends and dating), smoking too much weed can turn you into an asshole etc.
These ads make me want to smoke weed. And I hate smoking weed.
I actually think these spots work well for young, middle class teenagers. No one wants to hang around with someone who can’t string two words together at a party because they’re stoned.
I, for one, welcome our new sloth overlords – Reddit

Clearly some commenters have never been stoned. This palsy induced transmogrification is more likely to happen after downing a bottle of taxable vodka.
I reckon these are good – teenagers who smoke cones will get around em.
Wow! Clearly the creatives who came up with this were smokin’ some seriously good gear. And the client who approved it.
Ok they’re pretty stupid. However i do like the first one.
But yes, not great.
because a bunch of advertising wankers are the target audience AMIRITE GUYS?!
Waste of my hard earned taxes.
The Gov is about to make this shit legal for medical reasons.
Please pass the bong
these ads are funny and I get it but I am sober and haven’t smoked pot since I was 16. I feel like there are a few in adland that might still smoke it. Pot is a loser’s drug lets face it. Hence all the loser comments.
I wanna smoke a shit load of weed and watch these ads again.
@onlyonenotstoned & @thesecommentstho
You can often tell just from the comments who’s a suit, a creative, a client, a finance person, etc etc
i like them. far more memorable than any kind of finger wagging ‘dope is for dopes’ type shit.
i see them as being aimed at building some form of tool for the non weed smoking kids to negatively label the smokers. do-gooding straight lacers like @onlyonenotstoned for example..they are the target market here, rather than those smoking weed.
like when 50s ads labelled girls as ‘fast’ if they didn’t comply to expectations, it was to give the haters more ammo.same deal here
good job
These make me want to smoke.
I want to be that sloth.
What a legendary character.
You guys nailed it, for all the wrong reasons.
These hit the mark. Especially the can’t talk to girls one.
Agree that voicing stoner sloth ain’t necessary but yeah, when you’re like that it is – in retrospect – embarrassing and undesirable.
loving the sound effects on slothyyyy /10
This is very lazy marketing.
To say ‘lets hit the soft targets’ and then do it in a soft way, with soft insights like ‘hey, you might not be able to talk to girls’
Please.
Look to NZ and see all the wonderful work they have done in this space, then think about what you have just done and next time make sure you do better.
Simple as that really.
What’s happened to Saatchis?
I paid good money for my education, HECS was a right bitch…. If I had put anything this sh*t together I would have failed…. No wonder nobody has been credited for this…
