Sunbeam tackles the little things that make the biggest differences in new spot via Droga5
Sunbeam is reminding Australians that the little things can make a big difference with its new campaign highlighting how its iconic range of appliances are “designed by you” via Droga5.
The first campaign to come out of Droga5, since it won the account earlier this year, has taken a light-hearted look at the frustrations that fill many people’s lives and shows how Sunbeam has turned them into unique benefits that make a real difference.
From espresso machines that don’t produce scalding or luke-warm milk to food processors that aren’t missing that vital attachment, the multi-media campaign shows how Sunbeam has kept a close ear on what people really notice when they reach for a kitchen appliance.
John Turnbull, Sunbeam’s general manager of marketing, said the campaign had captured the essence of Sunbeam’s focus on delivering what Australians wanted.
Says Turnbull: “Designed by you is the perfect summation of what Sunbeam stands for. It reflects our efforts in ensuring that all our products deliver on what consumers are truly looking for in their appliances. It’s been great working with Droga5 to refresh the brand’s thinking and communication and this is just the start of both a great idea and a great relationship.”
Droga5 creative director Daryl Corps said the agency had an opportunity to take a fresh look at how people saw everyday appliances.
Says Corps: “The creative idea of ‘designed by you’ came directly from the truth of how Sunbeam go about their work – specifically their human and intuitive design process. It’s always refreshing to be asked to simply find a creative way of dramatising the great things that are inherent in a brand’s everyday life.”

Long bow
You don’t always like surprises so we…insert absolutely anything…for you.
The problem with scripts that follow a particular formula is that they feel worn-out right from the start.
wake up its 2013
Does the VO say “perfec” and not “perfect”?
Very nice observation. The worm in the apple made me smile.
Made me feel good.
Really?
Time for Droga 5 to get some good creatives
Or you could have just told me about what the product can do for me.
It’s only the world’s biggest cliche… a worm in the fucking apple. please stop it now. Cringeworthy at best.
… surprise us with a good ad?
C’mon D5. Everyone has to make this stuff but PR it on the blog? At least pretend the industry isn’t so fucked and worn down by client demands and overseas head office demands that this stuff is put out there as good work…..
Imagine getting the seat next to Mr Enunciation on a long haul flight?
Faaaaarrk!
GET A LIFE!!!!
Made me smile and it’s beautifully shot. Job done.
Terrible.
Terrible ‘Terrible’?
I don’t think so.
Harvey Norman ads are terrible.
Garnier ads are terrible.
Swisse ads are terrible.
This is really quite nice.
Well shot.
Cute Droga style track.
Quirky insight perhaps-but that’s planning for you.
No,not terrible.
Not award winning either.
But all in all quite pleasant.
Bit like the Sunbeam brand.
I was expecting more from Droga5. Like a 360-integrated, aesthetic-pushing, revolutionary product/idea crossovers campaign that revolutionises the world.
This? This is just a bloody ad!
lol this is trash
That is a really cute ad. If it was longer, I’d still watch it. I’d watch 20 minutes of it if it was a 20 minute commercial. It doesn’t make me want to turn the channel. The right mix of cute and funny. Though a little more branding wouldn’t go astray
